John Tran, MD

John Tran is from the East Side of San Jose, and is a proud graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He also completed his undergraduate, medical school, and residency at UCLA. He graduated as chief resident from the UCLA Family Medicine Residency, where he developed his passion for teaching both students and patients. As Volunteer Clinical Faculty, he taught UCLA seminars on racial, social, and ethnic disparities in healthcare, and learned how social inequities have affected socially disadvantaged populations of San Jose. He has always dreamed of becoming a physician to reduce health disparities in San Jose, and now gets the opportunity to help.

He is board certified in family medicine, and sees patients of all ages, including infants and children. His clinical interests include pediatrics, adolescent medicine, women’s health, geriatrics, sports medicine, reentry healthcare for justice-involved populations, refugee, immigrant, and undocumented health, and sexual health.
